sarcasm - "Petition To Stop Making Pointless Petitions"
Yes, Guru here is an "official, elite, awesomeness personified fansite". Yes, it is populated by awesome people and visited by Anet reps. Yes it owns.
YES, the 5 billion discussions on petitions to have the dye trader die of cancer or make nerfing a crime are going NOWHERE.
If you want something petitioned into action, GO TO ARENA-NET and stop wasting bandwidth with pointless /signed comments that will NOT, not EVER, see the change occur, simply because 5 pages of /signed exist on a page of a forum on a fansite of a game that has WONDERFUL support staff for just this exact sort of thing.
Here's an idea that is not my own, because anyone with common sense could
devise it and make it work to their agenda:
Go in-game and chat up petitions from players int he game, not on a forum where many people seem to spend more time posting in here than playing the game itself!
Get a list of email addresses, timestamps and whatnot, and fire it off to anet. They actually might listen to you then.

What the hell? I don't care if you plaster it on some wall. You missed the point, Fine by me
I'll quietly let the management delete the thread. I got out what I wanted to say. Human insanity will either compel this idea to rot, or intelligent, mature rationale will prevail.
Madness.

/signed... not
if making a petition here has no effect at all, at least it allows us to discuss about things

Most petitions aren't actually given thought by A-Net. But it does give us some conversation. If you don't want to see the petition threads, don't click them

I suggest you READ the petition threads you are defending, then try again. Discuss what, exactly? How is a post with "/signed" a discussion about anything, pro or con, dealing with the game, the community, or it's fringe areas?
Seriously.
The rest of the posts are flame and flame baits, and do nothing in the way of discussing anything but who has a bigger penis. In the end, it is pointless, and it takes up space and time, and clutters up the good stuff with meaningless, moronic inanity.
This thread is NOT a petition, I assumed intelligence would show this without me having to say it aloud for you, but I digress.

The ''Give us a War'' thread was a good read. I saw no flames. The rest of the petition threads seem legit too. I know some petition threads are bad, some are good. You can't base the conversation of one petition thread on the rest of them. And quit getting pissed off because people don't agree with you.

Wrong. They are all filled with flames and penis size debate. Nothing more. What planet are you on?
You being defensive is what I call pissed off, which is not me. I am not defending anything I am stating a fact. I am unsure what threads you are reading.
I couldn't, honestly, care any less who stands in agreement with me or does not, I simply wanted to say something about an issue that is filling these boards with stupidity.
The question is not am I pissed off, but why are you defensive if there's no validity in my argument?
You only magnify my point 1000 fold.

The main thing IMO that needs to be dealt with are all these one-word replies to game suggestions, "/signed". Cut it out. If you agree with someone's idea, how about you explain why it would make a good choice to be implemented, or possibly even take that person's suggestion one step further and give your input as well? Don't just say "/signed" and be done with the thread forever.
I'm starting to wonder if 90% of these one-word, "/signed" repliers aren't just signing off on every little suggestion just to get new stuff added to the game ASAP. I hope the mods decide to start cracking down on all this SPAM in these suggestion threads. Having lots of replies with little content doesn't make an idea thread any more worthwhile. It just makes the real content of the thread harder to sift through.

Well there are always sides in every given situation. You have those that want less nerfs and you have those that want more nerfs. They will never please all the people all of the time, but, will please some of the people most of the time.
Forum petitons though are rather silly. I always send my comments directly to A-Net first and foremost and get feedback. I'm happy with the responses I've gotten so far, though they still continue to say post on a community forum. So, I do that mostly for exchanges of opinion and to see the minds behind the players of this game. It seems name calling and yah mamma is about as prominent here as it is in the game if someone doesn't agree with your opinion or wants for the game. Just about every thread has for and opposed comments. It's really rather useless and silly, but, if we don't voice our own individual opinions then the opposition might actually win correct?
So, I'll sign your little useless petition just for signings sake of my stand on the subject matter. It really makes no nevermind though, they will continue to crop up time and time again. And I'll be there giving my oppositionistic opinion.

I think everyone has gotten the point and before this degenerates into another petition to stop the petitions petition ( )...I'll just let it rest and fade to page 2.
